New Mobile Phones to Use Text-to-Speech Engine
The Pantech Group, the second largest mobile phone company in South Korea, has agreed to use Nuance Communications' RealSpeak Mobile SF to power its PG-6200, PG-8000 and PG-3700 mobile phones in multiple languages, including Russian, English and Mandarin.

RealSpeak is a text-to-speech engine designed to accurately convert text into clear, synthesized speech, delivering high-quality readings of SMS and e-mail messages.
The products are already available in Russia and Taiwan.
"We believe this partnership with Nuance Communications will add a significant edge both to our handsets and our ability to roll out new products in different parts of the world," said Tae Hyun Jung, vice president of Pantech's R&D planning division, in a prepared statement.
The company's goal, he continued, "is to selectively increase the scope of our service in a number of key markets, and being able to provide handsets that are fully functional in local languages will be integral to this process."
More than 30 manufacturers worldwide have utilized Nuance solutions in more than 50 million devices, including cellular phones, smart phones and PDAs.
Nuance officials said RealSpeak Mobile provides a scalable embedded text-to-speech system for mobile phones. With RealSpeak, any SMS and e-mail from a user's inbox can be read aloud in more than 20 languages and 30 voices, Nuance officials said
They also said that the features are available in different memory configurations, ranging from a low footprint, entry level version—RealSpeak Mobile SF—to the very high speech quality and advanced text processing of RealSpeak Mobile HQ.
BenQ-Siemens P51 GPS smartphone a touch on the pricey side
For the longest while, this smartphone was little more than vaporware. We could barely get our hands on even a concept sketch or computer rendering. Well, the BenQ-Siemens P51 is very much real and they're getting ready to sell it to the general public for just $825.

Oh, and when I said "general public", I really meant "the people of China", because that's apparently the only place where you'll be able to find this QWERTY'd-out handset. If you recall, the compact design is mated with a 240 x 320 touchscreen display, 1.3 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, 802.11b/g, VoIP, Bluetooth, USB 2.0, MMC expansion, and 128MB each of RAM and Flash ROM.

Samsung SPH-P9000 - handheld PC, great spec
The
Samsung SPH-P9000 handheld computer is a very cool looking piece of tech, with a spec to match. It comes with 1GHz CPU, Windows XP, 30GB hard disk, 256MB of RAM, 5 inch display, WiMAX, CDMA EV-DO, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Phew. And it weighs just 580g. The real doozy though is that fold out keyboard, which looks like it actually could do the business. No word on price, but this is one design experiment that looks very interesting indeed.

The SPH-P9000 comes with a QWERTY keyboard for painless typing and internet surfing, while the MP3 player function, VOD, and camera function provide a quick access to multimedia entertainment. The five inch WVGA screen is prepared for movie and document viewing, while the 30GB hard drive stores music, movies, and documents. All of these unique features are combined into one device that weighs in at a little over one pound.

Sony Ericsson K800 or Nokia N82?
This phone is really looks like a Sony Ericsson K800:

But it isn't. If you look under the cover, you can see this:

It has a Nokia N82 label.
It's not a real SonyEricsson K800, it is a fake from China. The most funny point is the price of that device. Its about 100 USD.

It also has a 128-channels polyphony, but it can't be used in GSM Network, because it supports CDMA standard only.
O2 Jet phone with long battery life
The British operator O2 has released a mobile phone called O2 Jet. It doesn’t have a camera or an MP3-player (however you can set MP3 melodies for incoming calls). It’s quite a simple model, however it features long battery life on a single charge.

First of all, O2 Jet is meant for businessmen who need to talk much on the phone (the phone lasts for 9.9 hours in talk mode and over 540 hours standby).
The phone works in GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) networks and supports GPRS and no 3G. Its LCD displays up to 65K colors. The only feature untypical for simple handsets is the support of Bluetooth and e-mail (POP3 and IMAP4) – the model is positioned as the business phone. Measuring 117x47x20 mm it weighs 121 g.
Mobile Review
My first post.
Well, It starts... At my blog I'll try ti gather interesting information about cell phones of GSM standard, any cellular news and many other related information.
I think it will be interested not for me only.
So, my first cell phone was
Nokia 1100, and I still use it. On average use, I was able to obtain approximately three-four hours worth of talk time, and about three days standby.
I like my phone, because it is very simple.
